What's in Scratch Live 2.5?
Support for Serato Remote
Serato Scratch Live users have support to download and use Serato Remote - Serato’s first official App for iPad®.
Designed to compliment an existing Scratch Live setup, Serato Remote will connect seamlessly to your Serato laptop software and work with all supported Scratch Live hardware.
Scratch Live is a vinyl emulation program that operates exclusively with Rane hardware. You can mix and scratch digital music on your computer with Serato Control Vinyl or Control CDs. It includes a set of creative DJ tools such as cueing, looping, keylock, the SP-6 Sample Player and DJ FX.
Serato Remote lets you see and perform all of your favorite Scratch Live functions without needing to touch your laptop. Control Cue Points, Loops and Samples. Load tracks and manipulate FX in ways that weren’t previously possible. See Serato’s famous Virtual Decks and Track Overviews so you can focus on the crowd and free yourself from your laptop.
Have control at your finger tips and enhance your Scratch Live performance. Serato Remote can be connected wirelessly freeing you to move around the stage or connected over USB for ultra low latency.
- Jan 20, 2014 SL boxes will connect to any mixer and turntable/CDJ setup just like Scratch Live. Where-as the controller is just plugged into your computer and the club's sound rig. The SL 1 isn't compatible with Serato DJ, but the SL 2, 3 and 4 are compatible. This means you can still use a turntable/mixer setup as you would with Scratch Live, but with.
- Mar 02, 2011 Ships With: Serato Scratch Live. Two USB ports and dual sound cards makes DJ switching truly seamless. Sturdy, robust and well made, this mixer will last for a long time. Two channels of full Scratch Live controls on each side of the mixer. Full featured and well equipped mic input section.
- Feb 15, 2015 One of the challenges for Traktor and Serato DJs playing in a multi DJ lineup is seamlessly transitioning between laptops with only one soundcard or mixer. This isn’t an issue for DJs that use CDJs or Rekordbox since the other DJ can throw in a CD or their USB stick. Luckily Ean Golden has a simple trick that makes switching between DJs on 1 soundcard super easy using the Roll effect.
Designed with real world performance in mind, using big easy to hit buttons focusing on the most important performance features.
Serato Remote is available now and can be downloaded direct from the App Store℠ for USD 19.99.

Scratch Live 2.5 Bug Fixes
Switching From Scratch Live To Serato Dj Video
Alongside these key features Scratch Live 2.5 also includes bug fixes to continue the unparalleled level of stability and performance that Serato software is known for.
Some examples of the bug fixes are:
- Mixtape .als recordings now work with Ableton Live 9.
- Fixed a bug where the beatgrid lock wasn't being saved and loaded to/from the file; it was only being saved to the database.
- The Sixty-Eight record source is now correctly loaded from preferences.
- Fixed a bug where the CDJ-350 was sending both MIDI and HID messages which meant it could possibly fire two different Scratch Live events at the same time.
- Fixed a bug where the DJFX deck assignments wouldn't save to preferences if going from being 'on' initially, to 'off'.
For a full list of bug fixes see the Scratch Live 2.5 Release Notes

Hello nice people at Serato. I have some general questions about switching over to Serato DJ I hope you could answer. These were not obvious answers I could find in the forums.
I am a long time Serato user. Recently, I have been given the opportunity to go on tour. This is great for me, but there will be no DJ equipment for me available. So I have been thinking about switching to a controller (most likely one of the Pioneer controllers) for this tour. So with that in mind, here are my questions:
1) Will I have to reanalyze all my current files currently in Scratch live to Serato DJ?
2) I sometimes use Serato video. Will my current version of Serato video work with Serato DJ?
3) I currently use an SL1. I understand I would need to upgrade my interface if using Serato DJ. If I were to do that, I would still be able to plug into a regular club DJ system and use cdjs and a mixer or have the option to bring the controller or both?
4) Could I use a controller with Serato DJ as well as a secondary MIDI controller such as an APC40 or Trigger Finger?
5) Any idea if the Bridge option will be available for use with Ableton?
6) Once Serato DJ is installed, are there any issues of me still running Scratch Live with my SL1 if I keep using that for times when I will just plug into a regular club system?
Thank you for your help
